Picking mushrooms and berries
The nearby forests of Parpalandia have outstanding areas for picking lingonberries, blueberries and cloudberries. The forests are located far enough away from housing, which ensures the natural produce is not only immaculately clean, but there is also an abundance to pick.
The mushrooms are at their best as soon as the first autumnal showers set in, ripe and ready to be picked. Mushroom picking is a fruitful and interesting
form of spending time outdoors.
Traversing slightly off the marked trails you can be certain you will at least find some mushrooms. Milk cap and russula are good for pickling, while boletus and sheep polypore are excellent pan-fried. Gourmets will savour chanterelle, trumpet-shaped chanterelle and horn of plenty used for various soups and sauces.
